Description

Indulgent protein-packed cookies made with brown butter for a nutty, caramelized flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup protein powder (vanilla or chocolate)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark, milk, or your favorite variety)

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown with a nutty aroma.
  2. Mix the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until incorporated.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, protein powder, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop the cookie dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding nuts or dried fruit. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
