Ingredients

  • Fresh or Frozen Huckleberries (4 cups)
  • Granulated Sugar (½ cup)
  • Lemon Juice (2 tablespoons)
  • All-Purpose Flour (1 cup)
  • Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats (1 cup)
  • Brown Sugar (½ cup)
  • Unsalted Butter (½ cup, melted)
  • Ground Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the huckleberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Allow the mixture to sit for about 10 minutes to let the juices flow out.
  4. Mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon in another bowl.
  5. Pour the melted butter into the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  6. Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish and pour the huckleberry mixture in.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the huckleberries.
  8. Bake in the oven for 35–40 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
