Description

Delightful biscuits shaped like skulls, perfect for Halloween parties and trick-or-treaters.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Candy eyes or edible decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract into the butter mixture, and beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients; mix on low until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼-inch thick and cut out biscuits using a skull-shaped cookie cutter.
  8. Place the cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Cool the biscuits on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  11. Decorate with icing and edible decorations once completely cool.
