Description

Delicious, soft, and gooey cinnamon rolls perfect for cozy mornings and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup milk (whole preferred)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (for frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)
  • Vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 110°F (44°C) in a saucepan.
  2. Activate the yeast with warm milk and sugar; let sit until frothy.
  3. Mix in the flour, salt, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Mix the filling ingredients into a paste.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  8. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the dough.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces.
  10. Arrange slices in a greased pan and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  12. Frost the cooled rolls with the cream cheese frosting.

Notes

Serve warm with coffee or tea. Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight.
